Welcome to GHIC

The Gadvikian Health Innovation Center (GHIC) is a sovereign health institution established by the Lenape of Delaware – Gadvikian Tribe. We combine Indigenous birthing traditions, herbal medicine, ancestral healing arts, and holistic research to care for the body, mind, and spirit of our tribal community and beyond.

Our Divisions

Tribal Midwifery Division: Live births, prenatal and postnatal care, spiritual birthing, tribal birth certificate issuance.
Natural Medicine & Herbology Division: Herbal remedies, native plant cultivation, tribal apothecary.
Traditional Healing Arts Division: Energy healing, sound therapy, sweat lodge rituals, and trauma support.
Integrative Health & Research Division: Cultural health research, outcome studies, and innovation in natural healing practices.
Spiritual Birth & Transition Services: Ceremonial birth and death rites, tribal naming, and end-of-life care.

Certified Tribal Midwives

GHIC offers tribal certification and licensing for midwives through the Gadvikian Institute of Higher Learning. Certified midwives are trained in Indigenous birthing, emergency care, and tribal documentation systems. All certified midwives are listed in our secure registry and receive GHIC-issued ID cards with verification codes.

25 U.S.C. § 450 – Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act
Tribal Constitution – Gadvikian Law Article V: Health & Ancestral Protection
